There is NO reason Sookie had to be the one to kill him. If he was ready to die, there is zero reason why he couldn't just stake himself, or walk out into the sun quietly like Godric did. The biggest one is that I find it really gross to manipulate someone you care about into killing you because "it's for their own good." Like, seriously? Bill established 2 episodes prior that he didn't want to take the cure because he was ready to move on. There are so many problems I have with this scene. In the series finale, one of my least favorite moments is when Sookie is set to kill Bill because he wants her to "use his light" on him so she'll no longer be faerie, and he can die.
